We’re creating a buzz with the seventeenth Come Out Festival - South Australia’s biennial celebration of the arts by and for children and young people. On behalf of the festival team – and our swarm of friendly human “bee-ings” - I am delighted to introduce you to a rich, multi art form, very festive program. We guarantee that in the following pages you will find a range of performances, exhibitions, arts events and participatory creative activities with something to delight and intrigue absolutely every young person in South Australia.
The program springs from the festival theme: Being Human.
A process of thought and consultation with young South Australians has led to a program exploring ideas about family, community, reconciliation, imagination, invention, discovery and human communication. The festival is motivated by the lived experiences of children and young people. We invite them to ask the big questions -Who am I? Why am I here? -in their classrooms, within their families and among their peers.
Whether you go for a one-off event or total immersion, festivals are a well deserved opportunity to put normal life on hold and go a little wild.
So, happy reading and see you at Come Out 2005!
