Australia's largest literature festival for children and young people

THE BUZZ What’s new from Come Out

The Come Out 2005 team would like to thank all 500+ educators from across the state who registered to be Arts Ambassadors for this year’s festival.

Thanks to your dedicated leadership as an arts educator, and with the support of your school community, you ensured the success of Come Out 2005 - Australia’s largest and most diverse festival for children and young people – with over 150,000 children and young people participating in 600 performances, events, exhibitions, workshops and state wide projects.

Also, a massive thank you to the hundreds more teachers across South Australia who arranged excursions, hosted performances and registered students for our state wide arts projects.

Our best wishes and congratulations.

ARTS EDUCATION Updates from Arts Education Manager, Suzanne Donovan

Congratulations to all the teachers who made Come Out 2005 a fantastic celebration of ‘being human’ and the power of the arts through education. From school and community celebrations throughout the state both in schools and out, Come Out 2005 was a definite success and it couldn’t have happened without your enthusiasm and dedication! From the entire festival team, please accept our thanks and praise for the amazing input you have made to co-ordinating your students, schools and communities to participate in Come Out 2005.

ALLWRITE! Allwrite! is Australia’s largest literature festival for children and young people
(Pages 26 - 29 of program guide)

What a wonderful Allwrite! 2005! Eight of Australia's best authors and illustrators went out to the far regions of South Australia, and were rewarded with enthusiastic classes of young people and teachers all over the State. In Metropolitan Allwrite! we had many stars of literature too, including Liz Honey and Phillip Gwynne, and the State Library of South Australia was a perfect venue for this great week of really good sessions. Roll-on Allwrite! 2007!
