“This seamless combo of words and physicality simply had to happen in the first Come Out Festival since the building of our brand new State Library. Guaranteed to appeal to both movers and wordsmiths, Getting Physical pulls off the considerable feat of being both entertaining and educational.”
Come Out Festival Director Sally Chance
What do you get when you cross circus with poetry? Flips with onomatopoeia? Nonsense rhymes with a juggling act?
The answer is Getting Physical, a high-powered fusion of rhymes, explored through the body, words and music. The performers show their dexterity not only with their arms and legs, but also with their heads and voices as they dive in and out of character, looking at well-known Australian and international poets. Encounter the silliness of Max Fatchen, the curiosity of Edward Lear, the nonsense of Lewis Carroll and the hilarity of Roald Dahl by getting physical.
