“At Come Out we’re committed to taking steps into the creation of contemporary Indigenous performance. It’s great to be starting this using the skills of two of South Australia’s most important youth performing arts companies. Soaring will raise huge issues to do with Indigenous culture and reconciliation in the most accessible way possible – through entertainment and delight in ordinary young people doing extraordinary things.”

Event Details

From the air, the sea, the land and the people, comes Soaring - Indigenous stories full of cultural power, Dreaming images and some of life’s most important lessons.

Soaring features a young cast from Kurruru’s bold new Nunga Circus and South Australia’s well loved contemporary youth circus, Cirkidz. The starting point is some of this country’s most ancient stories, which are brought to life across time and space using the thrill and skill of circus for today’s young audiences.
Guaranteed to send both hearts and minds soaring, Cirkidz and Kurruru explore and embody reconciliation in fast paced action with plenty of “wow.”

Come Out presents Soaring in association with Cirkidz and Kurruru Indigenous Youth Performing Arts and supported by The Adelaide Festival Centre.

This project is supported by the Australia Council, the Australian Government’s arts funding and advisory body.
