“Windmill’s explorations into presenting work especially for babies and very young children is exceptionally important and precious work, as well as pioneering new theatrical territory. The Green Sheep will be a rich journey for all the senses and, most importantly, one which children and their carers can travel together in a setting which has been designed to accommodate the safety, intimacy and quiet stimulation needed by the very young.”
Come Out Festival Director Sally Chance
Here is the blue sheep, and here is the red sheep.
Here is the bath sheep, and here is the bed sheep.
But where is the green sheep?
Mem Fox’s latest book will be brought to life on stage in this Australian premiere. With a setting inspired by and utilising Judy Horacek’s stunning illustrations, very young children will be enthralled and engaged in a search for the elusive Green Sheep. Along the way they will meet many sheep as they hunt for the answer to the question WHERE IS THE GREEN SHEEP?
This production has been supported by IN THE BEGINNING, a project which has involved teacher-artists, young children, teachers, parents, carers and undergraduate student teachers, exploring the elements that create a memorable and engaging “first” performance experience for very young children.
Parents and carers are encouraged to attend school day performances with their children – book through Come Out Schools Booking Office on 8267 6920. Babes in arms (2 & under) FREE.
