“I can’t wait to see this very exciting collaboration between Riverland Youth Theatre and Vitalstatistix. Combining the real life impact of the stories, with the skills and personalities of the young artists involved, Random Girls promises to be theatre at its most direct and engaging.”
Come Out Festival Director Sally Chance
“It’s not what other people think; it’s how I think about myself”
It could happen to anyone! If you’re young and you’ve got a child you must be...poor, stupid, single, you sleep around, you don’t know who the father is, you had a bad family background, you had the child for the money. Random Girls challenges these assumptions in an innovative multi-arts installation created by young women from the Riverland, who have been working together for the last year to create performance work about their experiences, together with artists from Riverland Youth Theatre and Vitalstatistix.
A celebration of strength, choice, determination, self worth and motherhood.
Random Girls will also be performed in the Riverland! General Public shows Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th March; and Schools shows Monday 7th to Wednesday 9th March. Call RYT on 08 8588 3240 for more information.
